World Federation of Rose Societies

The World Federation of Rose Societies (WFRS) is the organization which supervises the thirty-nine national rose societies. It represents over 100,000 members and was founded in 1968.

WFRS aims to:

• Encourage the exchange of information and knowledge concerning roses between national societies,
• Coordinate international conventions and shows,
• Encourage research on issues concerning roses,
• Established shared standards for judging new roses,
• Help coordinate the registration of new rose names,
• Establish a uniform system of rose classification,
• Bestow awards and international prizes,
• Promote international cooperation on all questions concerning roses.
