World Federation of Rose Societies
The World Federation of Rose Societies (WFRS) is the organization which supervises the thirty-nine national rose societies. It represents over 100,000 members and was founded in 1968.WFRS aims to:
- Encourage the exchange of information and knowledge concerning roses between national societies,
- Coordinate international conventions and shows,
- Encourage research on issues concerning roses,
- Established shared standards for judging new roses,
- Help coordinate the registration of new rose names,
- Establish a uniform system of rose classification,
- Bestow awards and international prizes,
- Promote international cooperation on all questions concerning roses.
