Day at Saint Galmier for all Delegates (free of charge) Saint Galmier at about 80km west from Lyon is a pleasant flowered town with many attractive activities: racecourse, casino, spa, traditional local food market… For a long time, there have been good relations between Heritage rose Groups of Saint Galmier and Lyon: which explains the invitation of the Mayor of Saint Galmier to receive all the delegates of the 17th World Rose Convention. More informations about Saint Galmier and its Roses Garden Pleasant city, Saint Galmier, is a small town that count a little over 5.5000 inhabitants. Recreation offered are equal to nature, diverse and attractive. These assets were recognized in 2008 by the entrance of Saint-Galmier in the closed circle of 100 cities labeled "Most beautiful detours in France". The city also benefits from a flowering which allowed it to get the "4 flowers" national distinction and received the "Grand National Bloom Award" in 2001, 2004 and 2007. It has over 12 acres of parkland: municipal park, rose garden, edges Coise (local river)… At the bottom of the village, in a natural area along the river Coise, on a site of 7000 m2 sup>, the rose garden was designed in 2000 by Nicole BADIN, a landscape architect teaching at the school of Engineering Lullier in Geneva, to celebrate the new millenium. This natural heritage celebrates beauty, serenity, romance, visual and olfactory pleasure. To go further, visit the websites of Saint Galmier and of its Roses Garden.
